Local Music: I Am Machi

I Am Machi is a 2 piece band of my relatives.  One, I grew up with and the other has been a long-time friend that married my brother.  Yes, my brother and his wife started a band just 1 year ago and they are going after it, for real.  There music has been played on CBC Radio 1, CJSR (a local university station) and they have also recorded a 3-song EP that is just awesome.  Way back in January, they did a local show and asked me to bring my camera along.  It was another dark club that was poorly lit, but I tried my best.

Their music is fun, catchy, and vibrant.  One article called it, "Noise Rock".  Yes, noise in only the best musical way!

You can follow them on Facebook HERE.

Oh, HI!

Wow!  It has been awhile, hasn't it?  Would you believe it, I took these pictures on a beautiful wintery afternoon just a few days after Christmas?  If you're from the Edmonton area, up until a week ago, our outdoor look hasn't changed too much.  Dare I say that Spring has arrived, so I had better get these posted!  They have been edited and ready for months!

My husband's Aunt & Uncle (would that make them my Aunt & Uncle-inlaws?  I have no idea.) had their whole family under one roof over the holidays and wanted to seize the moment to get some family pictures done.  Aren't they a photogenic bunch?  I think the photo of them all on the river under the bridge is my favorite.  They are such a warm family to be around.  Really, truly.
